Glenn Carl Leonard is a native of Washington, DC, born June 11, 1947, and second oldest of 8 children born to Gennie and Pearlie Leonard who were originally from North Carolina.

The Leonard's were not unlike hundreds of thousands of poor families trying to survive in the inner cities of America. During the early years of Glenn's life, he was raised between Washington, DC and North Carolina.

Glenn started singing at the early age of 6 years old and by the time he reached 13 years old, he began to earn a living performing on stage, at parties, concerts, and as a recording artist. He had a dream of being an established, professional and successful entertainer. With a lot of hard work, diligence, and determination, he successfully established three singing groups by the time he was in his early 20's called "The Chancellors," "Instant Groove," and "True Reflection." He was also a member of a popular and successful recording group from Washington, DC called "The Unifics."

Glenn's first recording was with "The Chancellors" on Cap City Records, a subsidiary of Septar Records in Washington, DC. He later recorded with "True Reflection" on Atlantic Records. In 1975 Glenn came to the attention of the world renowned and legendary Temptations of Motown. He had always been a fan of the group. He grew up listening to the smooth sounds and tight harmonies of Eddie, Paul, David, Otis, and Melvin. He had a long and illustrious career as the first tenor and lead singer of The Temptations from 1975 to 1983. He performed on 10 albums with The Temptations, singing lead on many songs including "I'm on fire", "Go for it," "The best of both worlds," "Open their Eyes," "Ever Ready Love", and the classic Christmas song "Silent Night" from The Temptations' Give Love At Christmas LP. One of the highlights of Glenn's career as a Temptation was being a part of "The Temptations Reunion Tour" in 1982. He had the opportunity to travel all around the country performing with legendary entertainers including Eddie Kendrick and David Ruffin. On this tour, Eddie and David reunited with the group,(Glenn, Otis, Melvin, Richard, and Dennis) making SEVEN Temptations on stage giving unforgettable, extraordinary, and historic performances. The Reunion tour drew sell out crowds across the country and the fans really enjoyed seeing the original temptations, as well as the rest of the Tempts on the same stage together once again. Glenn and Eddie remained good friends until Eddie's death in 1992.

After leaving The Temptations in 1983, Glenn became a born again Christian, entered into full time ministry, and was licensed in 1986. He was ordained and received a doctorate degree in the early 1990s. He founded and pastors a church in Houston, TX and is now doing concerts again with his new group, giving audiences all over the country a genuine Temptations experience.
